OEM, Park Place, or us. Pick the right one.

Three real options for post-warranty maintenance. Every Park Place figure below is taken from their own site. Where their site does not say, we say so. Where the OEM is the right answer, we say that too.

The honest version

Who should pick what.

Stay with the OEM when

  • The hardware is under 18 months old and inside warranty
  • The platform is firmware-gated and you still need updates: 3PAR, Primera, PowerStore, ONTAP upgrades, Cisco software and TAC
  • Your procurement rules require it

Park Place fits when

  • You run sites in dozens of countries and need one provider in all of them
  • You want a large vendor with a monitoring platform and a customer portal
  • You are comfortable that the three largest alternatives are now one company

We fit when

  • You want a second opinion on the renewal from outside the consolidation
  • You have 50 to 5,000 assets in North America and want month-to-month terms
  • You have gear past EOSL that the OEM will not touch and you need it to run 3 to 5 more years
  • You want a priced quote in an hour, not a sales cycle

Why this page exists

Three alternatives became one.

For most of the last decade a buyer could get three independent quotes on an OEM renewal: Park Place, Curvature, and Service Express. Park Place now owns all three. A second opinion from any of them is the same opinion.

That is not a criticism. Scale has real advantages, and the table above lists them. It is a fact a buyer should know before the renewal call.

We are the independent quote. Send the equipment list. Compare the three columns on one sheet. Here is how to switch without a gap if the number says switch.

Get the third column filled in.

Send the equipment list. A line-by-line comparison against the OEM renewal comes back within one business hour.
